Association Day Programme

13:00 - 14:00

Lunch

Location: Harmonie Hall

14:00 - 15:15 Concurrent Themed Discussions:
Delegates can choose one subject in this session and another in the 15:30 session. Delegates make their choice of which sessions to attend on the day.

Strategic Global Planning for Associations

Location: Room Fantasie 1 & 2

It’s an ever more globalised world and associations are playing their part: this session explores the often radically different strategic approaches that associations are taking to boost their membership and expand their influence, to promote their accreditation and education programmes, to develop and market services for new regions of the world, deal with ever-increasing competition, and of course to fulfill their organisation’s mission.

Moderator: Greta Kotler, CAE, Chief Knowledge and Strategy Officer, ASAE (American Society of Association Executives)
Speakers: Chip Deale, Head - Global Society Relations, CFA Institute; Helga Severyns, Senior Director, UITP (International Association of Public Transport); Luc Hendricx, Director, IDF (Congresses and Governance, International Diabetes Federation)

How to Decide Where to Hold Your International Congresses

Location: Room Illusion 1 & 2

Do you have a rational, professionally-designed decision-making process for analysing where to hold your future events, and are you aware of every factor that potentially influences how the decision is made? If so, you’re in a minority within the association community! Using ICCA’s recently updated framework document on this subject as an agenda for group discussion, this session will generate and share great ideas about how to make the decision-making process more efficient, transparent, and in alignment with the strategic objectives you set for your most important meetings.

Moderator: Martin Sirk, CEO, ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association)

Leveraging Conference Content Online

Location: Room Illusion 3

Your meeting might only take place for three or four days, but your association’s members increasingly want to have access to the valuable content throughout the year, whether they are able to attend the meeting or not! This session explores ways in which data, ideas, and full meeting sessions can be captured, shared, co-created, and archived for the maximum benefit of all of your members. New technological solutions will of course be highlighted, but the conceptual issues surrounding how to effectively deal with overwhelming mountains of data will also be debated. The presentation will also look at leveraging content value from a revenue generation and association development point of view.

Speaker: Pol Van De Perre, Association Director, MCI Brussels

15:15 - 15:30

Coffee Break

Location: Congress Centre Foyer

15:30 - 16:45

Themed Discussions: Sessions repeated from the 14:00 session. Delegates can choose one subject in this session.

GCB Seminartage: Change Management im Verband - Erfolgsfaktoren für eine effektive Steuerung von Veränderungsprozessen

Raum: Room Genius, Level 9.1, Hall 9, Messe Frankfurt

Referent: Prof. Dr. Uhrmacher, BVBC

16:00 - 17:00

GCB Seminartage: Sponsoring! Erfolgreiche Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten für Verbandsmedien und Veranstaltungen

Raum: Room Genius, Level 9.1, Hall 9, Messe Frankfurt
