The 2011 Winners
The IMEX Academy Awards
were presented to the some of the meeting industry's brightest talents at
the IMEX 2011 Gala Dinner. The winners were: Asia Pacific - Samuel Koo, Seoul Convention Bureau, The Americas - Rick Antonson, Tourism Vancouver, Europe - Trudi Wagner, Mariott Hotels, Africa & the Middle East - Rick Taylor, The Business Tourism Company. New for 2011, the IMEX Academy Award for Recognising Service to the Industry at Large was presented to Jon Hutchison, Business Events Sydney.

This year's JMIC (Joint Meetings Industry Council) Unity Award was presented to Luc Maene, International Fertilizer Industry Association for his outstanding contribution to the international meetings industry.
The joint IMEX- MPI Foundation Student Scholarship Award is presented to the winner of the international IMEX-MPI ‘University Challenge’ where students are judged on presentations given at various Future Leaders Forums around the world. Michal Maziarczyk, from the Vistula University, Warsaw, was judged an outstanding winner of this year’s award.

International AIDS Society picked up the coveted IMEX Green Meetings Award for Large Meetings.
The Green Meetings Award for Small/Medium Meetings was presented to Canada Media Marketplace.

Connect Travel "Mission Possible" won the globally recognised IMEX Commitment to the Community Award. The award, was presented to Benoit Sauvage CMP, President, Connect Travel Services DMC.
The IMEX AACB (Association of Australian Convention Bureau) Vin Barron award for bureaux staff went to Melissa Reilly, Adelaide Convention Bureau.

The IMEX Green Supplier Gold Award, given to the supplier who has demonstrated the best effort to minimise the environmental impact of their venue or product, was presented to DoubleTree Hotel Portland. The Silver award was given to Vancouver Convention Centre.
